The route includes explanations about the actions developed by IB in the environmental area, with a stop to plant a native tree that will be used for reforesting the banks of the Lake and a walk through the Zoo that has animal species native to the Atlantic Forest.
Divided into two parts – In the first part, the journey is made in a special car for the tour. After boarding at the Visitor Reception Center, the group heads towards the Bela Vista Biological Refuge, passing through the ITAIPU Binational Security Area Control Barrier and along the banks of the Piracema Park rest lake. On the way it is possible to observe areas of reforested forest, areas reserved for the ITAIPU Transmission Towers, as well as the back of the ITAIPU C Neighborhood.
In the second part, the route is carried out on foot for a stretch of approximately 2km, in which visitors participate in the activity of Planting a native tree, visit the little gate of the Refuge on the banks of the ITAIPU lake, and pass by the Zoo, which has more than 15 venues.
Note: as it is an environmental conservation unit, some sections of the walking trail are on terrain where conditions are not recommended for wheelchairs, strollers, among others.
Approximately 2:30 am. Of which approx. 30 minutes by car, and approx. 2 hours of light walking.

– The tour vehicle may not have windows, so it is recommended to use a raincoat on rainy days and a coat on cold days; Note: the type of vehicle is subject to operational availability and seasonality, and can be done in open trailer-style vehicle or urban bus (closed).
– Furthermore, the tour takes place in the middle of the forest, so the use of repellent, sunscreen and closed shoes is recommended;
– There are drinking fountains on the route, take your own bottle;
– Eating on the trail is not permitted.
– We are in a binational security area, so all visitors must pass through the security barrier with an x-ray machine and metal detector portals to check belongings;
– This tour may change its route, depending on the Plant’s needs;
– The use of drones is prohibited.
