A visit to the Bela Vista Biological Refuge allows you to explore the rich fauna and flora of the Atlantic Forest, while learning about the conservation efforts carried out by the Itaipu Dam.
The tour is divided into two parts:
In the first part, the journey is made in a special car for the tour and, after boarding at the Visitor Reception Center, the group heads towards the Bela Vista Biological Refuge.
Thus, they pass through the Control Barrier of the ITAIPU Binational Security Area and the
banks of the resting lake in Piracema Park.
Along the way, it is possible to observe areas of reforested forest, areas reserved for the Towers of
Transmission from ITAIPU, as well as through the funds of the ITAIPU C Neighborhood.
In the second part, the route is done on foot for a stretch of approximately 2km.
Here visitors participate in the planting of a native tree and visit the small port.
from the Refuge on the banks of the ITAIPU lake, and pass by the Zoo, which has more than 15 enclosures.

The tour vehicle may not have windows, so a raincoat is recommended on rainy days and a warm coat on cold days. Note: The type of vehicle used is subject to operational availability and seasonality, and may be an open trailer-style vehicle or a closed city bus.

The tour takes place in the middle of the forest, so it is recommended to use insect repellent, sunscreen and closed shoes.

As this is an environmental conservation unit, some sections of the trail are on terrain where conditions are not recommended for wheelchairs, strollers, etc.
