The Itaipu Special tour itinerary, which includes the Itaipu Panoramic tour route (with stops at the two viewpoints and the plant's exterior area), includes an additional stop at the top of the dam, 225 meters above sea level – and a visit to the dam's interior and the powerhouse, where it is possible to observe up close the Penstocks (White Pipes), the Concrete Cathedrals, the Central Control Room, the Generator Unit Gallery, and the Turbine Shaft.
Observation: During the tour, there is walking and some sections with stairs, corresponding to two floors to go up and two to go down.

– It is mandatory to wear shoes that are attached to the heel and without a heel or with a height of up to 3 cm and a minimum width of 3 cm.
– We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing. Wear shorts and sports pants instead. Avoid long skirts and palazzo pants. You will be entering an industrial environment, crossing service walkways, wind ducts and using stairs and escalators.
– No bags, backpacks or purses are allowed. Lockers are available for R$10,00.
– The tour is outdoors and our buses can be opened on the sides of the upper part, so it is recommended to wear a raincoat on rainy days and a warm coat on cold days;
– We are in a binational security area, so all visitors must pass through the security barrier with an x-ray machine and metal detector portals to check belongings;
– This tour may change its route, depending on the Plant’s needs;
– The Itaipu spillway is a safety structure for the plant, and is only opened when there is excess water in the reservoir. The images of the open spillway are for illustrative purposes only.
– We accept the following payment methods on our website and local box office: credit cards and cash (Brazilian Real only).
The use of drones, weapons, and sharp objects is prohibited.
